Activities
Rescue
CARE is equipped with three ambulances on the road which picks animals in distress off the streets and brings them to the outpatient department for immediate medical attention. Apart from the ambulance, CARE also accepts individual rescuers who bring ill, injured & abandoned animals directly to the shelter and admits them for further treatment.
Treatment & Rehabilitation
Care Force
The CARE FORCE Tactical rescue team is a special team exclusively dedicated to rescue of animals from challenging and life threatening situations like deep wells, high rise buildings, floods, tree tops and so on. The Rescue Team comprises of a group of trained rescuers along with the right kind of equipment required for these kinds of technical rescues. The team consisting of Keerthan RP, Anil, Ramesh, Venkatesh and volunteers regularly undergo prior training and keep their rescue skills updated by attending relevant workshops and training programs.
Rabies Helpline
CARE runs India’s second only dedicated Rabies Helpline, after Goa, in association with BBMP & Mission Rabies by Worldwide Veterinary Services.
The 24/7 Helpline efficiently manages public queries and complaints and coordinates with BBMP for the safe handling of hundreds of suspected dogs. The helpline also creates awareness and educates the public on matters related to Rabies and managing dog bites safely.
Adoptions & Release
Humane Education & Awareness
At the heart of any welfare activity, lies education & awareness.
While rehabilitation & rescue efforts are ongoing & necessary, it can be equated to mopping up after an open tap. Education efforts can be likened to closing the tap. With more awareness & sensitizing the citizens of tomorrow, there can be far reaching, long term and positive consequences for animals and mankind.
Community Outreach & Events
At Care, we believe that there must be constant interplay between the shelter and our society & community, as it can be a mutually beneficial exercise. Hence we have several events both at the shelter premises and outside. The stakeholders of these events vary over a wide range from children, adults, corporate companies, art connoisseurs, music lovers, and pet parents.
The events range from summer camps, storytelling, corporate day outs, art exhibitions, book sales, music concerts, garage sales, flea markets & so on.
